1.Bed
The bed is the basic component of the CNC lathe, and its main function is to support and fix other parts of the lathe. The bed is usually made of high-strength cast iron to ensure sufficient rigidity and stability. The structural design of the bed directly affects the accuracy and processing performance of the lathe. For example, the flat bed CNC lathe has a simple structure and convenient chip removal; the inclined bed CNC lathe has better rigidity and precision retention, and is suitable for high-precision processing.
2.Spindle box
The spindle and spindle motor are installed in the spindle box. The spindle is a key component that drives the workpiece to rotate. Its speed range is very wide and can be adjusted according to different processing materials and processing requirements. For example, when turning aluminum parts, a higher spindle speed can be used to obtain better surface processing quality; when turning carbide steel parts, the spindle speed needs to be appropriately reduced to avoid excessive wear of the tool.
3.Tool holder
The tool holder is used to install and replace tools. Common tool holders include square tool holders, turret tool holders, etc. The turret tool holder can be equipped with multiple tools and can quickly switch tools. When processing complex parts, it can reduce tool change time and improve processing efficiency. For example, when turning a part with external circle, internal hole and thread processing procedures, the turret tool holder can pre-install external circle turning tools, internal hole turning tools and thread turning tools, and automatically switch tools for processing according to the program.
Feed system
The feed system is responsible for controlling the movement of the tool in the X-axis and Z-axis directions. It usually consists of components such as ball screws, servo motors and guide rails. The ball screw converts the rotational motion of the servo motor into the linear motion of the tool, and the guide rail ensures the linearity and accuracy of the tool movement. The high-precision feed system can achieve a small feed amount, so that high-precision parts can be processed, such as precision shaft parts.
