Good adhesion
Grease has strong adhesion and can firmly adhere to the friction surface. For example, on a vertical axis or the surface of a component that rotates at high speed and easily generates centrifugal force, grease will not easily flow away due to gravity or centrifugal force like lubricating oil. This allows it to remain in the lubrication position for a long time and continue to play a lubricating role under some special working conditions, such as the wire rope of a crane and the joints of outdoor equipment.
Good sealing
It can effectively prevent external dust, moisture and impurities from entering the friction part. Like the wheel hub bearing of a car, grease is used for lubrication. The grease can form a sealing layer around the bearing to block pollutants such as dust, mud and water on the road, reduce the wear and corrosion of these impurities on the bearing, and thus extend the service life of the bearing.
Buffering and shock absorption ability
Grease plays a buffering and shock-absorbing role between friction parts. When mechanical parts are impacted or vibrated, grease can absorb and disperse this energy. For example, in the gearbox of some agricultural machinery, the machine will be bumped and vibrated when working in the field. Grease can reduce the collision between gears, reduce noise, and also reduce the possibility of gear damage due to impact.
Long service life
Compared with lubricating oil, grease does not need to be added frequently. Because of its small evaporation loss and long-term retention in the lubricated parts, it can meet the lubrication needs for a long time after one filling. For example, in some low-speed and heavy-load bearings of industrial equipment, grease can be refilled for months or even years, which greatly reduces the maintenance workload.
Adapt to a variety of working environments
Grease can work in a wide temperature range. Some specially formulated greases can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments to prevent parts from getting stuck due to high temperature; at the same time, they can also ensure a certain fluidity in low temperature environments so that the parts can operate normally. For example, some parts of snowmobiles working in polar environments, or the transmission parts of high-temperature metallurgical equipment, can be well lubricated by selecting suitable grease.
Strong load-bearing capacity
Grease can provide good lubrication under high load conditions. In some large mining machinery gears, heavy truck chassis joints and other parts that are subjected to huge pressure, grease can effectively reduce the friction coefficient and prevent direct metal contact between parts, so that it can withstand the heavy loads of these parts and ensure the normal operation of the machinery.
